Taa (formerly known as !Xoon) is the last vital language of the Tuu family with a few thousand speakers in eastern Namibia and south-western Botswana. ǂHuan is the southernmost Taa dialect (cf. Naumann 2014), located in south-central Botswana, east of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and north of the South African border. The data utilized was collected by the DoBeS project in 2009, 2011 and 2013 in the village of Inalegolo. The talk concerns the verb in general, verbal morphology, serial verb constructions and characteristics of the verb phrase. These topics will ultimately constitute a chapter of my master thesis “A grammatical sketch of ǂHuan (Taa)”.
