Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi is an Ugandan writer currently living in the UK and a fellow of the DAAD Künstler:innenprogramm. She has been widely acclaimed for her historical cum futuristic family saga Kintu (2013). At IAAW, she will present her latest novel, The First Woman (2020) that has recently been translated into German as Die erste Frau (2022).
