My ongoing Masters project involves the reconstruction of proto-Ndogoic (Ubangi, Niger-Congo) based on grammatical descriptions and my own survey of the extant textual data. The talk will present and discuss my reconstruction of the personal pronoun paradigm in the Ndogoic languages as well as logophorics and some other pronouns with a less clear function. As a prerequisite it will also deal with the relation between 3rd person pronouns and other pronouns, and sensitivity to an animacy-based gender system in the pronominal domain.
