Invitation / Leaving and Finding Homes - On migration in Sub-Saharan Africa (16th November, 2017)

Across the world, on a daily basis, thousands of people leave their homes, migrate to other regions, countries, or even other continents, to start new lives that are safe and offer a chance at prosperity.

On November 16th, Oliver Bakewell and Guy Berger will share their insights on mobility in Sub-Sahara Africa. They will address the following questions: What are the main drivers of migration? How well prepared and well informed are migrants? How do migrants become members of the communities in which they settle?
The talk will be organised and presented by ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) and MiCT (Media in Cooperation and Transition) and will be followed by drinks, Sudanese snacks and Somali tunes played by Sagal Farah.

- Guy Berger

Moderation: Olu Abimbola
