Bionote:

İclal Ayşe Küçükkırca completed her PhD degree at the SPEL (Social, Political, Ethical and Legal Philosophy) programme at Binghamton University, New York in 2011. The title of her dissertation is Homlessness and Homemaking. Her areas of interest include gender/sexuality studies particularly women's movements, and feminist political philosophy as well as the construction of the home place in different geographies through different axes.

She has worked as a lecturer at the Philosophy department of Binghamton University and at the History department of the University of Wisconsin, River Falls and as an Assistant Professor at the Philosophy department of Mardin Artuklu University.


 

Current Research Project:

Homelessness and Homemaking in Peace and War Times: A Post-Humanist Feminist View to Surici, Diyarbakir (2015-16)

This research project will investigate the thoughts/memories of the people internally displaced during the urban conflicts in 2015/2016 in the city of Surici in the district Diyarbakir. The research will inquire on different meanings of home and homelessness for different groups and focus on different dimensions of the effects on the children, women, workers (seasonal and Hevsel workers), the artisans, and the youth, as well as the effects on animals which severely got harmed during the conflicts.

anthropology of space, home space, gender/sexuality studies, women's movements, feminist philosophies, political philosophy, social and cultural anthropology theory, critical race theory
