Dr. Pouye will be at our seminar from 20 July to 8 August 2019 as part of a study and research trip at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar. He is researching the following topics: The literature of the GDR after the fall of communism in 1989 and The question of the identity of children of Afro-German couples in German-language literature.

Dr. Aliou Pouye was already a DAAD scholarship holder at the Department of African Literatures and Cultures in 2018. He is a member of the University Cheikh Anta Diop zu Dakar (Senegal) and teaches there at the Département de Langues et Civilisations Germaniques of the Faculty of Philosophy. During his DAAD stay at the IAAW, he conducted research on German-African relations with a special focus on cultural relations ,and on Africans in the migration debate in Germany.
