Ramcy S. Kabuya has been a research associate at the Chair of African Literatures and Cultures since 1 March 2025 for the research project "Au-delà des ténèbres. Darstellung und Begründung von Gewalt in der kongolesischen Literatur nach 1960"

Ramcy S. Kabuya completed his doctorate in general and comparative literature at the Universities of Lorraine and Lubumbashi (2014). His dissertation, entitled Les nouvelles écritures de la violence, focussed on the different forms that the representation of violence can take. The challenges of change in Francophone literature since 1980 sought to trace the different forms that the representation of violence could take over time. Using a primary corpus of four authors from different backgrounds, the main aesthetic trends in this area were identified. He is the author of several articles on the relationship between violence and literature and on the renewal of literary aesthetics. He is particularly interested in intermediality as the basis of contemporary literature.

In addition to his research work, he is dedicated to fictional and journalistic writing. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, he works with various art and cultural organisations such as Picha, Waza and Kin Act Studio, as well as with artists such as Serge Kakudji.
