IAAW-Einführungstage WiSe 2026/27

Am 13. und 14. Oktober 2026 finden die Einführungstage für neue Studierende des BA Regionalstudien Asien/Afrika und des MA Asien-/Afrikastudien statt. Das Programm bietet Informationen rund ums Studium, Gelegenheit zum Kennenlernen der Seminare und Angebote der Fachschaft.

Super interesting Project Tutorial "Sociospatial Belonging in Berlin"


Dear students, 
 
Please see the attached poster for information about the project tutorial "Sociospatial Belonging in Berlin," the next session of which takes place on July 3rd. The project is a month-long block tutorial taking place on Fridays and Saturdays. Students are able to earn up to 4 ECTS for participation. While the first session took place on June 19th, additional participants are being sought, and there is still time to join the project. 
 
Participants will choose a site, and will use auto-ethnographic and artistic research methods to explore how Berlin's urban landscape delineates who belongs in the city. Together, students will critically examine particular aspects of their environment, from place names to statues, as well as broader trends, such as affordability, surveillance, and demolition. The group will explore how race, class, gender, national identity, and memory culture inform public policy and social behaviour, and will conclude by making their own creative intervention in the urban landscape.

Aktionswoche: Wissenschaft gegen Faschismus

Das IAAW beteiligt sich an der bundesweiten Aktionswoche "Wissenschaft gegen Faschismus" initiiert durch das Bündnis Studis gegen Rechts.

 

Es wird im Rahmen dieser Aktionswoche folgende zwei Veranstaltungen geben, die von Studierenden und Mitarbeitenden des IAAW organisiert wurden:

Universitäten als Orte des Widerstands: Perspektiven aus Asien und Afrika

Ausserdem gibt es einige reguläre Lehrveranstaltungen am IAAW die sich thematisch an die Aktionswoche anpassen und der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich sind.
